You can spend hours walking in the local woodland, watching wildlife, observe local farmers and wine growers work on their land. The pool at Glamping Vila Trilogy, with views over the town of Štrigova, is a place to cool-down, sunbathe, meet new friends and share a bottle of local wine. Sometimes, even in the height of summer, the sauna is a great way to relax.
Wine Road
For wine lovers, Štrigova is at the heart of the Međimurje Wine Road. Family run vineyards provide the discerning wine connoisseur with the opportunity to visit thirty different vineyards on a thirty kilometer drive. These vineyards are well known for producing high quality wines made from grape varieties that will be familiar to you. Take the Wine Road and enjoy a Pinot Noir or a Cabernet Sauvignon or maybe try a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay or White Riesling. We have developed partnerships with a number of the most famous vineyards in the area and we are happy to book wine-tasting activities for you at these premium locations.
Food
Međimurje County is well known as the market garden of Croatia and a visits to one of the many local markets will provide you with proof that this region knows how to grow produce. Cooking at Vila Trilogy using the very highest quality local produce is a pleasure in itself. However, you may also wish to try on of the many local restaurants and enjoy gastronomy that is equal to anywhere else in Europe. In Štrigova there are a number of bars and restaurants which are an easy 5min walk from Glamping Vila Trilogy. For example, sit outside at the Orijent and enjoy a pizza and a glass of local wine. A five minute drive from Glamping Vila Trilogy is Terbotz Restoran, a gem that serves the most amazing food in a stunning location. We provide our guests with a list of local restaurants and bars that suit every taste, we can guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Cycling
Međimurje County is well known by those who love cycling and provides cyclists with fantastic road, gravel and mountain biking routes. Serious cyclists will find routes to challenge and entertain. Those who require a more leisurely route are accommodated too. The roads in the region are generally quiet and car drivers do take care and are used to accommodating cyclists. Štrigova is located on one of the Mura-Drava cycling routes so, once again, Glamping Vila Trilogy is at the heart of the action and is a great place from which to explore the local region.
Exploring
Međimurje County is beautifully located, providing visitors with many new place to visit and enjoy. Walking from Glamping Vila Trilogy, you will be able to explore the town of Štrigova and its surrounding areas, taking in the natural beauty, walking through orchards and vineyards, stopping at a local cafe for a coffee or a glass of wine. Walking out of the town you will quickly come to Maderkin Breg, only a 40 minute walk away. This amazing location provides panoramic views across the region – simply stunning. Cakovec is a short drive from Glamping Vila Trilogy, a beautiful historic town with a castle and other visitor attractions. Further afield, if walking is your passion, we recommend you climb Ivanšćica. the highest mountain in the region and one affording the successful climber with panoramic views and a sense of accomplishment. Ivanšćica is a relatively challenging walk, dependent on the season and the weather, but perfectly achievable if you are in generally good health. With a car, you can take an enjoyable drive through sleepy villages and rural idylls, exploring Međimurje County and beyond. Nestled between two of Europe’s most beautiful rivers, Drave and Mura, exploring beyond these rivers is worth the effort. North of the Mura river will take you into Pomurje region of Slovenia, south of the Drava river takes you to Varazdin County.
Churches and Castles
If culture is your thing, there are numerous opportunities in the local region to explore churches, castles and other ancient and medieval locations. Taking time to explore Štrigova you will quickly find yourself at one of the two majestic churches that are easily viewed from Glamping Vila Trilogy. The closet to Glamping Vila Trilogy is the parish church of St. Mary Magdalene, built in the 17th century, the church further away but no less beautiful is the church of St Jerome, famous for priceless frescoes by Ivan Ranger. Cakovec, Lepoglava and Varazdin all offer the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful churches in Central Europe. Varazdin also has a famous castle and, if you aren’t put off by a 1hr 15min drive then a visit to Trakoscan Castle will not disappoint.
